‘Knowledge is power’
I soon learnt that this can only be the case when you are able to apply it. Like many people, I always knew that I wanted to make a difference somehow throughout my life, and I knew that If I wanted to make a difference, this action must stem from knowledge.
Through moving to Australia from my home country, and raising two children in this country, I have always instilled the value of education into them, because this matter was truly one of the most influential reasons in deciding to migrate. I knew that like many Australian graduates before my time who had contributed to incredible developments and innovations in the world, my children could have the chance to do the same, just by optimising the easy access to quality education in this country. Throughout the past 20 years in Australia, I have worked in the beauty industry as a senior laser therapist. Within this industry, I came into contact with many different people of all backgrounds, as well as many different situations where I gradually learnt skills in relation to leadership and management. These skills assisted me when I progressed onto the next
stage of my career path as a manager where I was responsible for administration duties.
Within this role, I continued to strengthen my skills and apply my knowledge when it came to meeting company goals, creating plans of action and managing daily operations. I have great appreciation for this role as it introduced me into the education field, a field that I always held great respect for.
Over time, my experience in this field grew, and so did my passion. It took me back to my inner values that I carried with me to this country, and made me realise that I wanted to add to the opportunities that students across the world, like many of you, with big goals and dreams, can access. With my experience, in combination with your determination, I aim to make this journey of investing yourself into limitless opportunities through education, come to life and become much smoother. This way, with your resultant knowledge and skills that you gain from our institution, you also have the chance to stand alongside other Australian graduates, and contribute to innovations that continue to positively change the way we think.
